Done being a SWE? These jobs want you.

Every week I ask recruiters one question: would you hire a software engineer for this role? The ones who say yes go in Tuesday's email.

What you get each Tuesday

The list

Jobs where a recruiter said yes

Sales engineering, product, consulting, data and support roles. I check each one with the recruiter first. You see the date they said yes.

The story

One real switch, start to finish

Someone who used to be a SWE explains what they did, how long it took, and what happened to their pay.

The move

One thing to do this week

A resume line to rewrite, a message to send, or an interview question to practice. Never more than an hour.

Hey, I'm Nick.

A lot of people I graduated with did everything right in CS and still can't get a SWE offer. Others got the job and realized they don't want to write tickets for the next 40 years.

There are good jobs that want what I know about software, and what you know too. It's just hard to tell which recruiters will actually look at an engineer. So I ask them, and I send you the ones who say yes.

Nick
